What’s the Future of Online Gambling in 2020
Over the last few years there have been exciting new innovations in the world of online gambling and online casinos. You no longer have to settle for cheap looking graphics and boring music and sound effects. By today’s standards they simply don’t match up. New additions such as live dealers and live casinos have become increasingly more common in past few years. With new innovations in technology, the possibilities for online gaming have never been more exciting. So, what does 2020 hold in store for? We’re taking a look at the future of online gaming.
Advancements in online casino games
Just a few years ago online casinos introduced us to live dealers. These games used cameras and real human dealers you could interact with and talk to in real time. This helped bridge the gap between land-based casinos and online casinos allowing gamblers to get a more authentic and human experience.
Other advancements in online slot machines have also helped usher in a new wave of slot machines. In 2020 online slot machines are being introduced that incorporate new features. Some of these features include grid-based games, augmented reality, and gamification features. Moving forward slot machines will also include RPG- based elements and even fully engaging story lines. New skill-based games are also being introduced which including solving puzzles or shooting boxes to win coins and prizes.
Embracing new technology
Most of us have probably heard of virtual reality (VR) based games and experiences by now. In fact, many of us have probably experienced some form of VR game or video. But VR has come a long way since it was first released. Today products such as Oculus Rift, Playstation VR and HTC Vive to name a few are becoming a lot more mainstream and much more affordable. These devices are helping to bring forth an all new online gambling experience using VR.
In 2018 Oculus released Social Club VR which places in you in a virtual casino where you can experience all your favourite casino games in virtual reality. Other companies like DreamlandXR are working to expand on this with an all new online gambling experience. A fully immersive casino experience in VR. DreamlandXR says, once new regulations are approved, you’ll be able to gamble for real money right from your couch.
Improvements in artificial intelligence
For some this might sound like something out of sci-fi movie or comic book, but artificial intelligence has been around in gaming for years. Many games will use artificial intelligence for controlling non-playable characters. Most online casinos use some form of AI today. Games like online poker and other games which are played with multiple players use AI to control your opponents. This technology is also being implemented to minimize chances of people cheating and help create fair gaming experience for everyone.
Looking ahead the future of online gambling looks exciting and promising. Advancements in technology and faster internet speeds are proving us with new experiences and new possibilities. The line between fiction and reality continues to get smaller. Who knows, maybe in a year from now many of us will gambling in virtual reality casinos with other real gamblers and real dealers without every having to leave the comfort of your own home. We can’t wait to see what comes next.
